The Mansion at Strathmore's "Drawing for Art" Exhibition and Fundraiser

The "Drawing for Art" fundraiser turned out to be a fun and successful evening!  I had a wonderful time having donated two pieces of my artwork as well as participating in the event.  Both of my framed photographs were bought with proceeds going to the Strarhmore arts programs.  I was delighted that a couple had their sights set on my piece. Thank you Kate and Carl!  And thanks to Carl's brother who bought my other piece for his girlfriend.  Everyone who bought a raffle ticket went home with a piece of artwork, including myself.  The remaining artwork left over when all raffle tickets were picked then went into a live auction. For anyone looking to buy art this is an affordable and exciting way to purchase artwork on the spot and in person.  Below are some photos from the event including photos of my framed pieces, "Passion Glow"(rose) and "Center of Attention"(hibiscus flower) hanging in the show.  This event takes place every other year.  I hope you can catch the next one!

Trip to Southern Maine

A few weeks ago I met up with my daughter in Boston and we drove to Southern Maine together.  I was looking forward to taking some scenic photographs.  It's beautiful there, although the leaves were not peeking as I had hoped.  We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in York, Maine, right on the water.  We drove along the coast to the Nubble Lighthouse and Ogunquit, Maine.  We walked the Marginal Way Path which overlooked beautiful granite cliffs and the ocean.  The water is a beautiful deep blue color.  I look forward to returning to Maine and traveling further north.  Here are some of the photos from my trip.  You can check out my website if you would like to see more photographs.  Have a great day!  Annette

6th Annual Metamorphosis Show

I was one of 25 artists who participated in the 6th Annual Metamorphosis Show this past Sunday, September 12th at Northside Social in Arlington, Va.  The show was a great success.  I sold two pieces, had a great time meeting the other artists and chatting with my friends that stopped by.  The feedback on my work was very positive.  As an emerging artist, I am always looking for new venues to display my work.

Baltimore Inner Harbor and Aquariam

I went to Baltimore's Inner Harbor last weekend with camera in hand and ready to shoot.  It was a beautiful day, mostly overcast with a slight breeze.  I took some photos of the USS Constellation which is docked at the harbor.  The Aquarium was a nice treat but extremely crowded.  I took in the dolphin show, Planet Earth in 4D, and the rest of the marine world they had to offer.  I was especially taken with the jellyfish invasion exhibit.  I will be using some of the photos to incorporate into paintings.  I think they are so cool and different, like they're from another world.  Check out more of my photos from my outing on my website www.annetteweinerart.com
